Strategic management is where major goals and initiatives are formed and carried out by an organisation’s top management on behalf of bosses. This would be based on the consideration of what resources are available and an assessment of the environments in which the organisation competes. It is the continuous planning, monitoring, analysis and assessment of all that is necessary for an organisation to meet its goals and objectives. As such, it is an essential ingredient for all leaders or those who aspire to successfully lead an organisation. 

This course reflects current practice in strategic management and leadership and allows participants to develop and expand their understanding. Those taking part in the course will engage in a range of group and individual workshop activities and the experiential learning will allow them to develop practical and workplace skills. 

Participants will be encouraged to consider the best use of resources, understand the need to innovate, and optimise performance. They may also have to present arguments for change, construct business cases, and lead the implementation and evaluation of change.

About the Programme

The taught elements will include an overview of the following areas that will provide scope to apply the tools and thinking together with core competencies, which will include:

On completion of this module, participants will:

  • Have learnt how to lead more strategically and to evaluate their impact on the organisation 

This module in strategic management will bring benefits to both you and your organisation. With formal training in strategic thinking, you will position yourself for an accelerated path to new heights, either in your current organisation or in a new setting altogether.

You can undertake the Mini MBA on an accredited basis, which on successful completion, will see you receive a PGCert in Business Administration (WBIS) from the University of Chester*

This Level 7 academic and work-based qualification is designed for senior people seeking to develop themselves as leaders and managers, who recognise they must satisfy various stakeholders and who want to invest in their own personal brand. They are looking to make the best use of resources, understand the need to innovate and optimise performance. They may also have to present arguments for change, construct business cases, lead change implementation and evaluate the impact of that change.

Businesses Tom has led include construction, facilities management, property development, architecture, vehicle and plant asset management, recruitment and training.

He has a track record of driving transformation and improvement and is driven by an enthusiasm for customer service and responsible business.
