In Professional Development Set to Raise £5,000 for Armed Forces Charity

Written by In Professional Development | 14 October 2022

A Wigan-based training provider, which has been praised for its commitment to the Armed Forces community, is set to raise £5,000 in aid SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity to support serving personnel, veterans, and their families as they face various challenges during and after a career in the Armed Forces.

In addition to a company-organised skydive, In Professional Development is taking part in SSAFA’s The Big Brew Up on Wednesday 28th September as well as fundraising online.

David Hall, CEO of In Professional Development, said:

“As both an employer and a training provider, we recognise the skills, experience, and value that ex-service men and women bring to our organisation. We also understand the challenges they encounter when transitioning from the military into civilian life.”

“We are proud to be a SSAFA corporate fundraising partner and work with our Armed Forces community. It is a privilege to make even a small difference to those that haveserved our country."

“Our pledge to deliver £5,000 to the Armed Forces is incredibly exciting! We can’t wait to see the efforts shown by everyone who works with and for In Professional Development.”

Kirralee Green worked in the Army (Gunner in the Artillery) for five years before becoming a Management Accountant at In Professional Development. She has volunteered to take part in the business’s skydive this month to help raise funds for a charity that is very close to her heart.

“Leaving the forces can come with a huge heap of challenges and facing civilian life can be extremely daunting, especially if you are leaving with physical or emotional injuries. I’ve been extremely lucky to have been given some amazing opportunities but not everyone is as lucky."

"I am so proud of In Professional Development supporting SSAFA as our service men and woman make huge sacrifices in service of our country, both in times of war and peace. I think it’s hugely important to recognise that and even more important to let them know that the country still supports them as hero’s once they make the transition into civilian life.”

Jessica Sanders, Corporate Fundraising Officer for SSAFA, added:

“All of us at SSAFA are over the moon at the way those at In Professional Development, one of our newest Corporate Partners, have thrown themselves behind SSAFA with a range of fundraising activities."

“Their individual contributions, and the backing of In Professional Development, allow SSAFA to keep on providing much-need – often life-changing – support to our Armed Forces family just as it has done for 137 years.”

After signing The Armed Forces Covenant earlier this year, The North West of England and the Isle of Man Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (NW RFCA), on behalf of the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS), presented In Professional Development with a bronze award for its support to employees and their customers.
