PCN Leadership Development Programme
This programme is targeted at Primary Care Network staff and GP Practice staff who work closely within their PCN and are wanting to focus on the next steps for their PCN.
This PCN training programme enables delegates to develop in their roles, providing them with the skills and tools to elevate the development of their Primary Care Network, bringing theory and best practice together. Delegates can expect to come away with a comprehensive action plan for their own PCNs and/or practice.
The programme covers the evolution of Primary Care Networks together with current developments and potential future opportunities in the context of the current NHS landscape; covering collaborative leadership, strategy development, organisational structures, PCN board governance, leading change, digital innovation and data driven improvement. Through utilising case studies and action learning, this course takes delegates on a learning journey to develop their own PCN development action plans.
This engaging programme is delivered by experienced NHS leaders and topic experts who hold wide experience working with multiple PCNs. Supported by current NHS insights, contextualised case studies and experience of the challenges of being a leader within Primary Care.

This course has been designed to support Primary Care Network staff and GP Practice staff who work closely within their PCN and are wanting to focus on the next steps for their PCN, looking for practical ways to develop in their roles and elevate the development and progress of their PCNS.

On completion of this programme, delegates will:
- Release a strategic thinking mindset to the art of the possible in the context of the PCN environment.
- Gain a clear appreciation of the position of PCN in the broader NHS landscape.
- provide delegates with knowledge and insight to apply both in their interactions as a PCN, but also within their own practices.
- Focus on developing personal leadership styles.
- Provide a foundation for innovation through a creative safe space.
- Have tangible tools and techniques.
- An understanding of strategic planning to enable future PCN strategy discussions to enable implementation.
- Insight into the differing organisational structure options available for PCNs
- Appreciate the power of data driven improvement entwining population health and digital innovation

Session 2
Day 2 – Building a PCN Strategy

Day 3 - Your Leadership

Day 4 – Delivering Excellence in Primary Care

It is a CMI approved programme. This course holds no qualification.
Kerry Robinson
Tutor
Kerry describes herself as a hybrid professional working on the intersection of cultural development, improvement science and positive performance delivery. Kerry has a strategic focus, emphasising strategy into action through operational delivery.
Kerry’s career has spanned equally the private sector and NHS, having worked in logistics, food manufacturing, telecommunications and oil research across a range of technical disciplines. Kerry is a chartered management accountant, green belt six sigma improvement trained, Kings Fund Top Management Programme Alumni.
For 13 years Kerry was employed in the NHS, six years as a Board Director, also Senior Responsible Officer for MSK care in a forming integrated care system. Kerry’s portfolio has spanned strategy, organisational development, quality improvement, research, project management.
Kerry now has a portfolio career being both a practitioner and a trainer in her mix of consultancy and training work ensuring she stays up to date with current theory, context and practice. Kerry is also a sessional lecturer teaching improvement science and organisational development at Masters level for several universities.
Kerry has a strong belief in bringing training to life through practice to embed in the grain of their organisations.
