The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) has been operating for over 70 years and is the benchmark professional body for standards in leadership and management. Submit an application with the acronym ‘CMI’ amongst the details and you’ll have the attention of any organisation that’s recruiting new management professionals or is looking to promote existing members.
The CMI started up following a realisation that, despite the existence of professional bodies for functional activities, there was no formal body for general management development and accreditation. Forces Families Jobs
Forces Families Jobs (FFJ) is an online training and employment platform for partners of currently serving UK military personnel. The site connects military spouses and partners with Armed Forces friendly employers and training providers, following feedback that they had experienced difficulties in accessing employers who understood the nature of Service life.
Whilst military spouses and partners can use general recruitment platforms, these employers may not understand the unique challenges they face. FFJ connects spouses with employers who understand and support military spouses, as the employers who advertise on FFJ are either Armed Forces Covenant signatories or have demonstrated their support to the community.
FFJ has offered employers access to a resilient and skilled workforce, a sometimes untapped and overlooked resource. We hope this will also assist in improving the employer perception of military spouses and what they can offer. FFJ offers the employer the opportunity to showcase and build on their commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant and advertise their jobs for free.

The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board
The ECITB works with employers and training providers to attract, develop and qualify the engineering construction workforce in a wide range of craft, technical and professional disciplines. We invest about £25 million each year to support skills development within the industry.
The organisation was established to address a market failure within the industry to provide training to its workforce. The ECITB addresses this market failure through its levy and grant system, which is used to drive up skill levels and fund training that would otherwise not take place.
Along with the education sector, government and employers, we work to ensure the UK has workers with the skills to meet the needs of the engineering construction industry. We design and award a wide range of qualifications, covering craft, technical and managerial disciplines. We are also responsible for developing and maintaining National Occupational Standards for the industry, which form the basis of our Training Standards, Vocational Qualifications, Technical Tests and Licensed Programmes, delivered by our approved network of training providers.
