CMI Level 7 - Senior General Practice Leadership Programme
This programme has been designed to support GPs and clinical staff who are already in or aspiring toward a leadership role and for existing Practice Managers wanting to develop their skills in senior leadership. The programme focuses on senior leadership, change management and understanding current issues within NHS primary care including population health management and how the role of PCNs and other changes can impact primary care.
This engaging programme will focus on real life experience and how you can bring theory and best practice into your own working environment. The course is led by a highly experienced NHS leader, and will be supported by current NHS insights, contextualised case studies, and first-hand experience of the challenges of being a leader in Primary Care.
The GP Practice Manager Programme builds on the CMI Level 5 course and provides professionals with the opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of senior level practice management and reflect and grow in an enhanced learning environment. Participants will become part of a strong and supportive national network of Primary Care Leaders.
This Level 7 accredited leadership training course has been designed to help GPs and staff at partnership level gain a better understanding of the dynamics in managing multidisciplinary teams and improve their personal approach to leadership.

The CMI Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Leadership and Management
Assessment
The CMI Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership is designed for Directors and Senior Managers who have the authority and personal inspiration to translate organisational strategy into effective performance.
This qualification requires senior and aspiring senior leaders to build on their skills in strategic management and leadership and to focus on the requirements of inter-organisational strategy. You will be required to take the theory, thought leadership and research discussed on the programme, and implement it in your professional life by focusing on your own leadership development, and positively challenging organisational strategy.
Delegates will be required to complete two 3500 - 4000 word written assignments that require taught theory to be applied to the organisational context:
- Unit 704: Developing Organisational Strategy
- Unit 714: Personal and Professional Development for Strategic Leaders

Amanda Meehan has over 20 year’s experience in healthcare management with the last 12 years as an NHS Practice Manager. Passionate about the NHS and building a culture of continuous improvement and sustainability, Amanda also works as a Management Consultant in primary care and is an experienced Coach and Mentor for new managers and a Member of the International Coaching Federation and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. Amanda is also part of a team that have created a Virtual Practice Management Service and currently works as the Service Lead.
Amanda has also worked with PCNs and Federations undertaking successful quality improvement projects. Amanda is also a member of the Health Foundation's Q Community.
